We at O4O believe that any new development in our community should be well-considered. This is especially the case with any development of the AT&T site, which will bring irrevocable changes to Oakton and must therefore bring commensurate benefits to its residents.
As part of the AT&T Site Comprehensive Plan Amendment process, we have submitted several documents and statements to County Planners and the Board of Supervisors with our ideas for what appropriate development of the AT&T site might include. Our proposals, analysis and public statements are based on work we've done for the past two years; we have surveyed the community, held public meetings, attended community gatherings, and communicated with residents via email and social media in an effort to gather the concerns and expectations of Oakton residents.

We will continue to advocate throughout the Zoning Process to incorporate residents' concerns into any final design plan.
EYA, LLC, a developer based out of Bethesda, MD, has proposed the current plan for AT&T site development. They are responsible for dozens of townhome and Mosaic-type communities all over the metro area. The land itself is currently owned by the Carlyle Group, a massive, DC-based private equity fund. Neither the developer nor the property owner have any ties to Oakton. Once they redevelop the land, they will move onto other projects and we, the residents of Oakton, will have to live with whatever they leave behind.
But good news --- EYA can’t unilaterally build on the AT&T land.
In order for any development to occur, the Fairfax County Comprehensive Plan must be amended and a Rezoning Application must also be approved.
Residents of Oakton can have a say in this process and influence what kinds of development is allowed.
Options for Oakton is currently advocating for enhancements to the development proposal, such as increased open, green space, among other things. Please contact us if you would like more information, or would like to take a more active part in discussions.
